DAVE S3 REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Š

Aaron and Eli loved DAVE's latest season.

Eli and Aaron go “looking for love” and review the latest season of DAVE. Here’s our take:

E1-E2 ๐Ÿคฉ

“The fantastic two-episode premiere of DAVE proves that even though Lilโ€™ Dicky may have a problem growing below the belt, he just might be able to grow into a semi-good person.”

Aaron

E3 HEARSAY ๐Ÿ˜Š

“DAVE is a show that doesnโ€™t really have a lot of bad episodes, in my humble opinion. There are quite a few episodes that are absolute home runs. There areย two episodesย that I feel are absolute grand slamsโ€ฆ. and then the rest are very average. Consistently average but average nonetheless. This counts as one as those. Not a complaint, but it is what it is. Average.

Eli

E4 WISCONSIN ๐Ÿ˜Š

The reason why Iโ€™ve often said that DAVE is one of the two or three best shows on television, regardless of genre, is because of episodes like this. This is an incredibly nuanced and thoughtful take on the state of current relationships from multiple different angles.

Eli

E5 THE STORM ๐Ÿคฉ

The episode feels like an extension of the world-building in Amazonโ€™s series, SWARM, ATLANTAโ€™s Teddy Perkins, or even GET OUT. Yet, whatโ€™s really underneath the ridiculous debates about the Holocaust and slaves, is a heartfelt story that cements GaTa as the MVP of the series.

Aaron

E6 #RIPLilDicky ๐Ÿคฉ

When Ben Sinclair (HIGH MAINTENANCE) directs an episode of DAVE, I recommend audiences tune in. His visual flair is always uniquely coupled with extreme themes about Lil Dickyโ€™s narcissistic quest to be #1, and #RIPLilDicky exemplifies this trend.

Aaron

E7 REBIRTHDAY ๐Ÿคฎ

“I understand that every episode canโ€™t be as comedically chaotic as last weekโ€™s. I know that Daveโ€™s search for love is the main theme of this season. However, this episode is, for my money, the most uneventful and, dare I say, dull episode of this entire show.ย

Eli

E8 MET GALA ๐Ÿคฎ

The โ€œLooking for Loveโ€ tour was the theme of this season, and there was even an idea of Dave canceling the tour because he didnโ€™t feel professionally fulfilled. That ideaโ€ฆ.was really going somewhere. And I donโ€™t want to say this season has been derailed by Dave getting everything he wants. But it seems to be heading that way.

Eli

E9 DREAM GIRL ๐Ÿ˜Š

“Outside of the inappropriate humor, the hope that Dave has the ability to change keeps me coming back weekly. At this point, Dave has everything he could want. Fame, a girlfriend that accepts him, and the funds to purchase a M3GAN-worthy sex doll.

Aaron

E10 LOOKING FOR LOVE ๐Ÿ˜Š

The problem is that the show is now treading inย ENTOURAGEย territory. One of the bigger problems withย ENTOURAGEย is that the celebrity cameos became so egregious that they didnโ€™t make sense to exist toward the end. Weโ€™re not there with this show… yet.

He hates the word cinefile, but considering how many films he consumes in a week...and how many films he goes out of his way to see, no matter the genre...he kinda seems to be one.
