Dave has always been an opportunity for Lil Dicky to have a microphone to voice his opinion on white privilege while masking his show in a myriad of low-brow humor. In THE STORM, he takes the trappings of a Southern horror film gone wrong, only to use his voice again to speak up against religious zealots. It’s a cringe-worthy comedy setup that’s a deluge of things going wrong worthy of earning a “mind hug.”

The episode feels like an extension of the world-building in Amazon’s series, SWARM, ATLANTA’s Teddy Perkins, or even GET OUT. Yet, what’s really underneath the ridiculous debates about the Holocaust and slaves, is a heartfelt story that cements GaTa as the MVP of the series.

Gather your “ride or die” crew and tune in to DAVE, which has become must-see TV.

It’s available on Hulu’s FX.
