HOME ECONOMICS reminded its viewers again that it “takes a village” to get things done among the three siblings, Tom (Topher Grace), Connor (Jimmy Tatro), and Sarah (Caitlin McGee).

I am not having fun reviewing this sitcom as much anymore. It is okay writing. The characters have bonded and we now know who hangs out with who and why. The storylines are familiar, but perhaps this is the problem.

The show is all about the different financial levels the family maintains, but nothing ever changes. The siblings seem quite blah, with the exception of Tom’s wife, Marina (Karla Souza). They are not bold enough to really keep our attention week after week. It is definitely not a MODERN FAMILY.  The humor is, for the most part, too mild and sedate. Sometimes the show has to surprise and wow us. It is just not enough.

HOME ECONOMICS has to find its passion again just like one of the characters mentioned. I hope they succeed. It is available to stream on ABC Television.
