STAR TREK; STRANGE NEW WORLDS was brilliantly written with episode 7. It showcased emotional baggage from the crew that would normally break anyone’s heart, yet the backstories were revealed in a humorous, highly creative style of filming. Thank goodness for “cosmic amnesia,” because viewers needed one person with their feet planted firmly on the ground in order to get back to normal. Space exploration leaves little time to process everyday inner struggles. The rippling effect of “space madness” can touch everyone on board the Enterprise.
The technical filming aspects were creatively genius. Different, hazy, bright lighting, extreme closeups, intense music, dramatic pauses, and fading to black were perfectly placed. It all helped create a specific genre that most audiences will recognize in seconds. The clever sarcasm and parody will encourage laughing out loud. The abrupt final scene will put it into perspective while the tears gently fall. Oh, we all “mourn the loss of a future” with those who have passed. Keep your tissues near.
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS was fascinating, entertaining, and an outstanding example of how to shine a light on the human species. Don’t miss it while it is streaming on Paramount+.
