The Academy Awards is the event for movie lovers – like it or not. Whether we agree or disagree with the nominations, it’s always fun to see our favorite creators honored, watching red carpet blunders, and the oft-rambling speeches. While no one of their favorite movies being snubbed, it’s also so rewarding when a well-deserving movie gets the spotlight it deserves.

The SpoilerFreeReviews team presents our thoughts on the nominations, our predictions of who will take home the Oscar, and who we feel it should really go to. After the show on March 27, we’ll let you know how our predictions stacked up, as well as our commentary on the night itself!

He learned to play piano and sing, give this man an award!

What will win: Andrew Garfield – TICK, TICK…BOOM! 🤩

What should win: Andrew Garfield – TICK, TICK…BOOM! 🤩

Esta Rosevear

Both of my choices deserve to win the Oscar, but comparing apples to oranges always will come up short for someone. What a loss.

What will win: It is the year of Will Smith from KING RICHARD.🤩

What should win: My heart belongs to Andrew Garfield from TICK, TICK…BOOM.🤩

Eli Brumfield

One simply does not win THIS many precursors and lose…..unless you’re Chadwick Boseman from last year. 🤩

What will win: Will Smith.

What should win: Will Smith.

Jami Losurdo

I really like Benedict but I don’t see why he’s getting so much attention around this role when he’s deserved it for other movies, not THE POWER OF THE DOG.

What will win: Benedict Cumberbatch 🙂

What should win: Will Smith 🤩

Mike Manalo

No idea what Javier Bardem is doing there, but the rest of the nominees are fine.

What will win: Kodi Smit-Mcphee 🙂

What should win: Troy Kotsur 🤩

Tarush Mohanti

Kodi Smit-Mcphee had an excellent portrayal of his character in THE POWER OF THE DOG, simultaneously being sympathetic but more than a little creepy, but Troy Kotsur gave a stellar performance.
