MONSTER 😊

“Everyone has their own truth…their own stories. When you look at me, what do you see?
Boy…man…monster.”

MONSTER is a 98 minute intense ride through our court system for a young, promising, 17 year old, black film student.

The ensemble is powerful and includes Jeffrey Wright, Jennifer Hudson, John David Washington and Kelvin Harrison Jr. The filming was raw and gritty, making sure you were pulled emotionally into every scene.

MONSTER begs us to see ourselves as others do. What is real for one, might not be depending on your perspective. In this case, once you see a young, black man in court, is there any doubt of his innocence until proven guilty?

The thing is, we the audience, are all pulling for Steve Harmon to be innocent. We care about his future. This is the hook and this story is being repeated over and over again everyday in our broken down judicial system with different results each time.

MONSTER is current in today’s society. We can no longer turn away and is available to stream on Netflix.
