LUCKY S1E1&2 REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Š

The best part about LUCKY is watching Anya Taylor Joy (THE QUEENโ€™S GAMBIT) do her acting thing. She has a way of convincing audiences using her  subtle facial expressions that she can run, take and give punch while  still survive each crazy moment. She plays the main character, LUCKY, who is conniving everyone in her path . I believe her. I am caught in her web of disbelief. This is a series that can help viewers get through the heat and smoke of summer.

The pacing of LUCKY is non-stop action. There are chase scenes that end in a twisty mental surprise. I honestly am not sure which characters are more brutal and vindictive. This is due entirely because of the incredible calibre of its supporting ensemble which features Annette Benning, Timothy  Olyphant, Clifton Collins Jr., and Anjanue Ellis-Taylor. Each scene is fraught with tense, unrelenting undertones. It will be a race to the finish with more blood to spill.

LUCKY only aired the first two episodes. Frankly I am glad.  I needed to rest my brain and body after sitting so intensely on my couch. LUCKY should not be taken seriously. It is fun escapism to look forward to for six more weeks. Do I believe all this could really happen? Who knowsโ€ฆwho cares.  Itโ€™s simply entertaining and contains fine character acting from people I have missed seeing on screen.

LUCKY is streaming on Apple TV.
