What a spectacular way to come back to movie theaters! Thank you IN THE HEIGHTS. I loved every minute, and if you are contemplating whether to see this film at home on a smaller screen, please reconsider. Just go for it. You will be glad you did.
The themes of IN THE HEIGHTS are consistent and steady…family, love, community, finding your place, little dreams, death and living the the life you were meant to have. All of this is shown and achieved through the fantastic choreography (Christopher Scott), huge musical numbers, incredible singing, phenomenal ensemble acting, and creative story telling. The director, John M. Chu and the creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda takes all of us on a magical ride to discover this small community in Washington Heights, New York. I wanted to stay there forever.
I laughed, cried, tried to dance in my seat and smiled throughout the entire experience. It doesn’t always work with stage to screen productions, but IN THE HEIGHTS is a huge success story. I cannot say it any other way…go to the movies and live IN THE HEIGHTS.
