HOME ECONOMICS tackled family baggage and “sentimental stuff” this week. This is a universal conundrum as we age into adulthood.

Marina (Karla Souza) tries to resolve her grievances with her dad (Cheech Marin). It is tough witnessing your parent be a better grandparent than the parent you remember. However, the writers gave both actors the words to express this very common occurrence. I believed their intense, honest moments.

Tom (Topher Grace) was, as always, picked on just for being who he was written. But, there are times this does get old. I would love to see more layers added to each of the siblings’ characters. It is time for extra depth and dimensions.

This was another okay episode of HOME ECONOMICS. It was better than last week, but it is still missing that original pizazz that made me love this show last season.

It is available to stream on ABC Television.
