BRIDGERTON S4E5-8 PART TWO 🤩

“Dearest gentle readers…”

BRIDGERTON concluded a glorious, sexy, sad, fourth season. It was exactly what we all needed to take our minds off current events. The writers gave fans hot, hot, hot scenes just like we were privy to during the first season. These four episodes will provoke and entice the audience’s emotional buttons. I laughed. I cried. I found myself breathless with delight. I binged until the screen went black, and now I have to wait for its return. Bummer.

BRIDGERTON is outlandish, showcasing elegant, stunning gowns, unforgettable Queenly wigs, and menswear. Each costume was meticulously detailed and suited every character’s unique personality. The colors, the bird cage, the peacock’s tail, the jewels, and the men’s high collars were sheer perfection, especially within the grandeur of two magnificent balls. Can there ever be too much pink? Don’t ask certain patrons. Bravo to all who worked tirelessly to make it all come alive in every frame.

The story arcs made oodles of progress. Some plot lines were completed, and others were left to be explored in the fifth season. BRIDGERTON has said there will be at least two more. This is good news since there are still several BRIDGERTON children left living under their mother’s roof.

Benedict and Sophie’s journey followed fairly closely the author Julia Quinn’s original best-selling novels. It has been a great joy to watch their lusty, woeful tale come to fruition. Their roller coaster ride brought to light many of England’s unfair societal practices and laws. “Societies should not be allowed to make decisions about who we love.” True words spoken that are still contested in the 21st century. Finding our “love match” should always represent our truths. The writers made sure these words were said out loud and with intention. Nicely done. We all need these reminders.

BRIDGERTON isn’t for everyone… sadly, I realize and accept this, but thank heaven, I am not in that category. The series is fun and light-hearted while poking holes in society’s norms. It is whimsical, gossipy, and at times, magical. It creates a yearning for family, community, and finding your match among impossible restraints. It inspires and leaves lasting hope for love’s endurance.

BRIDGERTON is streaming on Netflix.
