This week the UNITED STATES OF AL continued to show the differences between American and Afghanistan culture through a lost dog and what happens when brought home. Al (Adhir Kalyan) believes all dogs belong in the street and are too dangerous to keep as pets. Riley (Parker Young) and his daughter Hazel (Farrah Mackenzie) decide to look for the owners and treat the dog as their own. Tension ensues.

This was the first episode that allowed the audience to see Riley and Al not agree and compromise their differences. It also gave the viewers the opportunity to learn how difficult it was for Rileyโ€™s ex to raise Hazel for six years while he was in the service. It was subtle and a great character study.

UNITED STATES OF AL continues to use humor and fast-paced dialogue to make their point. The ensembleโ€™s acting skills always pushed the story about the importance of family and friendship.

UNITED STATES OF AL is available to stream on CBS ALL ACCESS Television.
