THE PATIENT is toying with us. This dark drama is taking its sweet time. I know I have been told, “Don’t give up on therapy,” but I am at my wit’s end.

Alan Steve Carell) is not doing well in his captivity. Who would? Seeing and talking to non-existent people is never a good sign. My heart lurches whenever Sam (Domhnall Gleeson) walks into the basement. There is a body, a shovel, and a note. I must know the outcome. The tension is so thick you could cut it with my imaginary knife. I did not have to see “his” face. “I feel powerless.”

I am beginning to wonder who will make it out alive. Oh, I love/hate slow-burn episodes. THE PATIENT is doing nothing for my patience. I am lost in Alan’s thoughts, “therapy is not an exorcism.”

THE PATIENT is available to stream on HULU.
