THE CROWN S6 E5-10 😊

THE CROWN highlighted more recent events in the British Monarchy’s history. It was a bittersweet and poignant second half of season six. I am glad the writers did not go into Prince Harry’s life or the recent death of the Queen. Some things are better left to our imaginations.

These final episodes dig deeply into how The Company has been working on its press and legacy. There was a softer touch to everything mentioned. I learned some inside facts that what they filmed was built around the truth. Audiences were able to witness both Elizabeth’s insecure and humorous sides. My heart still ached for    “the boys.” Their lives will always be tumultuous and built around the traumatic death of Princess Diana.

The entire ensemble was brilliant. Their characterizations of the Royals they portrayed were entertaining and thought-provoking. Through their silent breaths, viewers were treated to realistic performances. The theme punctuated how hard it is to wear THE  CROWN. Life behind those palace walls is not as much fun as we think it should be.

THE CROWN ended its run with hope and light for the future. Let’s hope the writers get it correct for England’s sake.

It is available on NETFLIX.
