Holy “father” in heaven, THE BIG DOOR episode just lived up to its potential. It did this smoothly with several celebratory “dance” moments and one significant character having an opportunity to flap their wings.

At the end of episode three, “Father,” Reuben (Damon Gupton) uses the Morpho Machine, and the show abruptly ends on a cliffhanger as to why it profoundly affects him. E4 dives into that, showcasing one character’s hurt and how that can be transcendent when given a sign to change. On top of that, the episode limits the screentime of Dusty, rewarding audiences with several comedic growth moments with other Deerfield residents.

THE BIG DOOR PRIZE is “still the one” with the “potential” to be Apple TV’s next big hit. So let’s see if the creators can pull this off or if they’ll have more regret than a particular Sophie B Hawkins hit song…
