STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS started its second season with an exciting, entertaining opener. The entire ensemble is back along with the hilarious, familiar face of Carol Kane as the interim Chief Engineer, Palia. Mayhem is surrounding the USS Enterprise.
THE BROKEN CIRCLE showcased a different side to Spock (Ethan Peck). Once the emotional box has been opened, it will never be sealed again. The space chase scenes, near-death moments, blood wine, following a hunch, and the new catchphrase “now” kept me glued to my seat with anticipation. It was cleverly well-written because it begins the major story arc for all episodes yet to come. Kudos to capturing our imaginations with a huge “kaboom.”
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS has me hooked on what’s next. I fear those hyper-energetic baby aliens from last season will be making an entrance soon, and then Captain Pike will be forced to go “where no man has gone before.” I can’t wait. It is available to stream on Paramount+.
