SOUTH PARK: POST COVID 😊

"SPACE JAM 2 came out..."

Just when you thought it was safe to turn on Paramount+, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have once again returned to SOUTH PARK for an absurd POST COVID TV movie. The two creators attack all sides in this charming SOUTH PARK set forty years in the future.

Despite the number of gags in the one-hour special, the lol 😂 moments sadly are missing. It’s terrific fun seeing Parker and Stone connect the craziness of the pandemic and how it can impact kids in the future to the boys of SOUTH PARK, but I didn’t laugh like I usually do when taking a trip to SP.

The funniest bit involves Jimmy delivering woke comedy. You see, in the future, comedy has to be safe, so each joke he sets up sounds like it’s about to be offensive, but when in fact, it’s just kind. Example: “What do you call a trans woman that walks into an abortion clinic? Her name is Rebecca, and she’s a fantastic person.”

The boys themselves truly make SOUTH PARK stand the testament of time. Audiences follow their friendship into outlandish scenarios that keep us coming back for more. I’m looking forward to the thirteen additional movies coming to Paramount + by South Park Studios. Here’s hoping that we don’t “run out of chin diapers” while waiting.

SOUTH PARK: POST COVID is available on Paramount+.
