I would never have imagined writing about AGT (AMERICA’S GOT TALENT), but I cannot help myself. I have watched every episode of this series since it began. I love viewing people get their “moment on the world’s largest” stage for a chance to fulfill their lifelong dreams.

SIMON’S FAVORITE GOLDEN BUZZERS was totally different. It was just Simon Cowell and Terry Crews (the AGT host) remembering 15 favorite Golden Buzzers throughout the seasons. Receiving a golden buzzer from one of the four judges or the host means you go straight through to the live shows. It is huge, and the crowd goes crazy wild. They are the top acts and the ones to “beat” in the competition. Seeing so many memorable, amazing, spectacular, happy, tearful, performances in a two-hour installment was over-the-top. I had forgotten, and this program made me remember why I adore this show so much.

It was such a relaxed setting. Simon was “himself.” There were no pretentious seconds for the camera. He and Terry chatted like old friends and recalled many behind-the-scenes moments that we were not privy to before. Sometimes when I am watching the regular episodes, I don’t focus enough on the performer’s faces as much as I probably should. I missed a great deal of what getting that Golden Buzzer meant to them. It was quite literally… “everything.” It validated all of their hard work and sacrifices for years before AGT. It gave them hope that they were supposed to be doing what they longed to do all their lives. It was disbelief and empowerment all rolled up together, seen so clearly in their faces and body language. It was phenomenal.

Our website, SFR, believes that passion for the arts leads our souls to a higher plane. Passion drives all of us to do better… to be better. I am thoroughly “passionate” about SIMON’s FAVORITE GOLDEN BUZZERS. It made me smile for hours after. It was worth the time to be a part of that magical twinkle from Terry and Simon’s eyes and hearts.

It is available to stream on HULU.
