Season two of PARADISE is over, and fans are set-up for next year with a huge cliffhanger waiting to be resolved. This gritty drama made audiences travel the country with Xavier (Sterling K. Brown). Dan Fogelman, Creator, Executive Producer, and Writer, gave viewers ample hope for the survival of our planet. It was action- packed while still revealing deep secrets and hidden agendas.
The cast of characters had a chance to spread their wings within their emotionally charged story arcs. Some I cheered for, and others I know I was mouthing WTF under my breath. I loved how the writers tied Atlanta to Boulder. I was skeptical at first, but it worked like a charm, and I enjoyed the use of Elvisโs mansion as a prelude.
I was impressed with the addition of new characters who spurred more questions into the apocalypse question. Kudos to Annie, Jane, Gabriela,Terri, and especially Sinatra. Their intense acting kept me on the edge of my seat watching them portray violence to love, and everything in-between. Nicely executed.
PARADISE isnโt afraid to kill off main characters. This adds to the frenzy and chaos. It makes everything feel more authentic, although you really have to suspend disbelief to become a bunker resident. Season two was more intense and intentional. I think Fogelman is holding us all hostage in the palm of his hand exactly where he wants us to be. Silly me. I trust him.
