MOLLI AND MAX IN THE FUTURE is a creative, fresh sci-fi, rom-com. It is a high-energy, fast-paced romp through twelve exquisite moments in the lives of Molli (Zosia Mamet) and Max (Aristotle Athan). Their CGI world and insane props gave viewers all the necessary pieces to travel across galaxies.
The writers were brilliant in their creation of the necessary dozen pit stops. Present, historical times were snuck in along with huge romantic homages that would make anyone fall on their butts. It was funny, witty, and felt authentic. The characters were relatable and extremely cringe-worthy throughout their long journey. I know these people and that made it compelling and entertaining.
HOW I SEE IT…I found it at times very difficult to watch MOLLI AND MAX IN THE FUTURE as a visually impaired person. There were bright colors everywhere and an overall pinkish tone to each frame. I had a hard time focusing on what I was supposed to be watching. My eyes were continually distracted. It was work to plant my limited sight correctly, and this did not help me stay in sync with the dialogue. Even though the movie is a kick, it is imperative for those who suffer as I do, to know this, and are prepared in advance.
MOLLI AND MAX IN THE FUTURE goes down as easy as a “gorp soda” while traveling to the “trash dimension.” It is a quick ride with an abrupt end. Hold on or you might wind up at The Citadel. It is streaming on Prime Video.
