LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY broke my heart this week. It was told from 6:30’s point of view. Poignant and bittersweet moments proved that dogs understand and feel so much more than we can ever understand.Â
Brie Larson was meant to portray Elizabeth. She could share her grief in profound ways without saying a word. Her character does not hold back. She invites the audience into her angst, determination, and turmoil. Brie has amazing, powerful facial expressions that only light up for the briefest moments. I would recommend not blinking so as not to miss the tiniest of nuances.Â
The writers are making sure the subplots are receiving their fair share of screen time as well. These are indicative of racially explosive periods in our history. I fear this will not end well for the neighborhood.
LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY continually turn the screw when dealing with women’s rights in the workplace. It is a wake-up call. The final moments of this episode pulled at every one of my heartstrings. It took me several hours after “to find my way home.”
“One foot…one foot…one foot.”
LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY is available to stream on APPLE TV+.
