LADY BOSS: THE JACKIE COLLINS STORY 😊

LADY BOSS: THE JACKIE COLLINS STORY chronicles the life of this world-famous author of romantic, light porn novels. Her fame is legendary, with over 500 million books sold. She was an entrepreneur of the highest level who knew instinctively how to create and maintain her empire.

Jackie Collins was the younger sister of Joan Collins, who also made her indelible mark as a film actress. Most will remember Joan as one of the stars of the infamous soap, Dynasty, but she was also a popular movie star for decades before. Joan lured her sister, Jackie into the Hollywood scene as a teenager, and the rest is history.

Jackie was always writing and kept journals of her entire life. She used those notes and photos taken for research, especially for her most famous and lucrative book, Hollywood Wives. The real Jackie Collins was more of an introvert and shyer. She became LADY BOSS when she wore her animal print jackets with huge shoulder pads, caked-on makeup, teased big hair, and expensive jewels on every part of her body. Jackie was said to be everyone’s “best friend” who took the time to promote and treat her fans very special.

Jackie’s motto was “Women can do anything!” She was a feminist before her time who loved living the good life and writing about the power of raunchy sex. She gave women a voice.

I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary produced by CNN and BBC. It showed the good and the bad parts of her life. It was filled with clips and intimate interviews from family, friends, and colleagues.

LADY BOSS: THE JACKIE COLLINS STORY was an honest, authentic look at a woman who died before her time from breast cancer in 2015. She made a difference in millions of women’s lives. Jackie was not perfect, but she was an icon for decades of the early women’s movement. Her story is available to stream on Netflix.
