INFINITE is an action-packed movie that got its start through crowd sourcing. D. Eric Maikranz wrote the original book, THE REINCARNATIONIST. He asked his readers if anyone could help get his book to Hollywood and unto the big screen. Eighteen months later PARAMOUNT made his dream come true.
Mark Wahlberg is the star of INFINITE. What can one say about him as an actor? Hmm…he plays Mark Wahlberg very well. It doesn’t get any deeper than that. Chiwetel Ejiofor is another story. He consumes the role of the antagonist and makes you believe he is one, evil dude. And another added perk, he is very easy on your eyes while sword fighting, kicking, and shooting anyone in his sight.
The story revolves around reincarnation and who remembers their past lives and who doesn’t. It begs the viewer to suspend all disbelief while watching the insane, car chases and crashes. It is a FAST AND FURIOUS like film filled with more fight scenes than KARATE KID. Is it entertaining? Of course, if you are into this sci-fi, philosophical genre. If you are looking for great storytelling, this just won’t cut it. The actual premise is fascinating, but it wasn’t taken deep enough to pull back the many layers of past lives.
INFINITE is an ok movie. Nothing earth shattering, except if you are into epic battles of combat. It is available to stream on PARAMOUNT
