I WANT YOU BACK is an average rom-com with a predictable plot and some cute, funny moments. It is just in time for Valentine’s Day and is not a “total” chic-flick (Only 88%).
Relationships are the theme of this movie. Staying in one and finding yourself is what most thirty something’s will enjoy. Emma (Jenny Slate) and Peter (Charlie Day) have awesome chemistry together. Jenny should be on Broadway every night belting out. She has amazing singing pipes! The two of them keep the film moving and light even when they have a terrible time. I was fascinated by Emma’s hair. It seemed to steal the scene every chance it got. Noah (Scott Eastwood) and Anne (Gina Rodriguez) co-star. They have great comedic timing. Be sure to look for a very short appearance by Pete Davidson. He always cracks me up.
I WANT YOU BACK will not disappoint if you are a fan of crazy romantic stories. It will work, but only if you carry an “oxygen mask.”
