A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS ended its first season on a heart-warming, hopefully to be continued second season. The writers made sure to fill in most of the blanks with all the necessary details. The final frame made me watch in wonder while tears gently flowed down my cheeks. It was simply perfectly written and staged.
Dunk (Peter .Chaffee) is at the center of the action and subtle reactions which makes the story entertaining and enjoyable. His character is flawed and vulnerable, yet he possess more honor and loyalty than the most famous knights of the kingdom. He carries the soul of a good man throughout every dangerous moment. He knows his limitations and yet, he continually forges forward. I have been consistently touched by his persistence and tenacity and it is growing more obvious to all around him, besides just the adorable Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). This is to the credit of excellent storytelling. Hazza to the writers and directors who kept a tight, sharp, intentional rein on each emotional and physical arc.
A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS surprised me. I was not prepared for what I saw. It was so much more. I fretted and smiled along with every epic adventure along the way. I am happily anticipating each new kingdom to be discovered and explored in the future. The exact number is not important. Sir Duncan was never amy good at counting. It is streaming on HBO MAX.
