UNCHOSEN LIMITED SERIES REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Š

UNCHOSEN was a peek into what life might be like in a religious cult. It is pure fiction, especially when faced with the forces of evil becoming a part of the compound. It showcased humanity’s weakness and how some never get their act together, no matter what. And how easily we can all be taken in, seeing only what we want to believe.ย

UNCHOSEN follows a slower pace, packing the rich countryside locations into almost every scene. There is too much car and truck travel along the scenic roads. There are also many extra beats wasted by watching thoughtful, soul-searching, non-action scenarios. Audiences are literally witnessing little light bulbs going off in most charactersโ€™ subconsciouses. This was an editing choice, one that kept every moment more subdued than necessary until the later episodes.ย

For me, I would have loved to know more about the chain of events or circumstances that brought this massive cult together. My instincts were screaming out loud long before any of the main characters. I also did not understand that the blatant misuse of technology was okay in some areas but led to major punishment and ostracism in others. I guess I donโ€™t have a cult mentality.ย

Fra Free as Sam was great and pretty creepy. Molly Windsor as Rosie played naive and gullible extremely well. The series was a series of ups and downs that needed a tighter thread to pull it all together. It even became predictable in the end. I mean, cult life canโ€™t die, right?

UNCHOSEN evoked meh feelings while watching. If it were going for a psychological thriller genre, it didnโ€™t quite live up to those standards.ย

UNCHOSEN is streaming on Netflix.ย
