For part of this week’s THIS IS US, Kevin (Justin Hartley) becomes a real-life MANNY. This simple plot setup is like a sitcom until darker themes emerge involving Nicky (Griffin Dunne) and Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison). On paper, this sounds like it should work, and for the most part, it does. What’s challenging here is that Kevin is the toughest to feel empathy towards out of the three main characters. As we go into the final of the “Big 3 Trilogy,” Kevin’s focus episode is officially complete. I’m stoked because we will finally learn about Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) next week. And 🤞 the finale focuses on our favorite of the Pearsons – Randall (Sterling K. Brown).
The fortune cookie-like lesson in tonight’s episode is if you have a good heart and try hard, you can accomplish anything. I’m thankful that Kevin’s story wrapped up so easily. However, I’m not as thankful that this was the only episode in season six that didn’t make me 😢 .
