THEY WILL KILL YOU is a campy, comedy horror film that will push every suspension of disbelief button. It is mega bloody and surprising. Thank goodness I am so visually impaired. All the blood, gore, and severed body parts flew over my head while I sat in rapt attention.
Zazie Beetz (DEADPOOL 2, JOKER) as the amazing, tenacious, fighting Asia made my heart race during her battles to survive. I am not sure why I believed she would rise up each time, but I did. She was a fierce character with the ability to withstand almost any near-fatal blows. If I am ever in trouble, I want her to have my back, especially against the likes of Patricia Arquette as Lily and Heather Graham as Sharon. The film basically bounded from one fight scene to the next with hardly a moment to catch a breath. There were gothic, devilish, pig segments that would curl the hair on any viewer’s arm, while you realized this was not a documentary or a film based on a true, inspired story.
THEY WILL KILL YOU was an entertaining ninety minutes of epic, brazen, dark-comedy sequences that would twist anyone’s normal parameters. It features a demonic cult that just keeps on spewing. If this is your thing… enjoy the buckets of blood and the rolling eye.
