THE PERIPHERAL contains an exciting premise about what our future holds in store for us. The problem is that the writers gave the viewers too much info to absorb and not enough action.
Don’t get me wrong. I want to understand this futuristic, Sci-Fi thriller on every level. I needed to know what the heck would happen to our society and environment in the next few decades. The number of high-action fight scenes and the look of the damaged, troubled years ahead made THE PERIPHERAL so compelling during the first three episodes. JACKPOT explained the “how.” Now I want to be dispersed within those moments. It’s the old acting adage…” show us, don’t tell us.” (And I mean more than just a quickie JACKPOT montage.
I believe this new series has more up its sleeve. The “jury” has not decided as of yet. Maybe I will have to put that funky headgear on myself and enter THE PERIPHERAL. Now that would be awesome. Move over, Chloe Grace Moretz. It is available to stream on AMAZON PRIME.
