THE LONG GAME ๐Ÿ˜Š

THE LONG GAME is based on a true story written by Humberto G. Garcia, a self-published author. It began in 1955 in Southern Texas and would eventually change the lives of five teenage boys, their two coaches, and the entire PGA. It is a predictable, heart-warming tale of perseverance and amazing courage during our societyโ€™s prejudice toward Hispanic athletes.

This is a moment of history most are probably not aware of how difficult it was to be seen and accepted as something more than a caddy at a golf resort. This film educated me and offered insightful moments I would never be privy to understanding. This was due to the talented ensemble, which included Jay Hernandez, Dennis Quaid, Cheech Marin, Julian Works, and Jaina Lee Ortiz. Their heartfelt performances drew tears and smiles throughout the film. I felt such pride for all their accomplishments. Everyone had โ€œtheir eye on the flag,โ€ which showed consistently.

We all need to see the LONG GAME occasionally to inject hope, kindness, and high standards back into our chaotic current world. It is a necessary story well told.

It is streaming on Netflix.ย
