In its final season, THE GOOD FIGHT is determined to take down everything it comes up against. Whether it is a race issue or a Russian trade money deal, the firm is all over it.
Writers are pushing for crossing all kinds of lines to see how far our actions and words will take us. So far, it is not helping the partners. Diane (Christine Baranski) is still in her hallucinated dreamland, trying to return to reality with what she mistakenly did to her doctor. Liz (Audra McDonald) is a forever pragmatist, continually staying in touch with those around her. The most natural, easy-to-go-down dialogue was the after-hours “secret sharing” drink session. Great laughs and honest reactions.
I am not sure where THE GOOD FIGHT is headed. Will they burn the entire world around them? Is Buddhism the answer to it all? Possibly. But I guarantee I will be standing nearby to watch what happens. It is very well done and leaves no doubt that creators have no patience for the mundane.
