The best moments in the latest formulaic action comedy with Melissa McCarthy happen when an artificial intelligence (that may or may not be trying to take over the world) observes her doing things that are annoying in life. From flossing to awkward interviews to trying to save a relationship with the always likable Bobby Cannavale, it is all relatable.
The film goes astray in the B story involving the government’s attempt to stop the A.I.
Audiences should experience the human moments and skip the generic action plot via HBOMax.
