STAR WARS AHSOKA SEASON REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Š

Aaron, Esta, Jami, and Tarush season review of AHSOKA. Spoiler Alert: we didn’t love it.

E1-2 ๐Ÿ˜Š

AHSOKA either needs to prove that it is more than a REBELS sequel and lean into its incredibly powerful, complex main character or needs to deliver on the mystical, world-breaking extensions of the Force.

– Tarush

PART THREE: TIME TO FLY ๐Ÿคฉ

“What makes this series really hit its mark is the talented Rosario Dawson as AHSOKA. Her presence is felt everywhere, whether she is dodging bullets while spacewalking or calmly teaching Wren to โ€œlisten with her eyes.โ€ย

– Esta

PART FOUR: FALLEN JEDI ๐Ÿ˜Š

“Most of everything else in AHSOKA, and especially here in E4, is far too tied into the STAR WARS: REBELS mythos, a show Iโ€™ve only seen a bit of. Instead of feeling like Iโ€™m being introduced to new (to me) characters and settings, I feel like an outsider who is never fully getting it. This is where the issue with AHSOKA lies; it never fully commits to being something fresh, but itโ€™s also not STAR WARS REBELS: THE LIVE ACTION SERIES either.

– Jami

PART FIVE SHADOW WARRIOR ๐Ÿ˜Š

“At one point, Ahsoka looks outward and says, โ€œThat will do.โ€ The same can be said for this good-not-great series. โ€œThat will do,โ€ Dave Filoni, but can we please figure out how to shift from the past canon of the STAR WARS universe and jump to lightspeed to move this universe forward?

– Aaron

PART SIX FAR, FAR AWAY ๐Ÿ˜Š

I hope story time is over for AHSOKA, and battles are next on the agenda. The sounds of menacing music and a chance to โ€œdie wellโ€ are what we all live for.

– Esta

PART SEVEN DREAMS AND MADNESS ๐Ÿ˜Š

Iโ€™ve gone so far as to confirm with a few friends that without REBELS, the emotional moments of this series will feel muted. In DREAMS AND MADNESS, I wanted to swoon for Dave Filoniโ€™s extension of STAR WARS. But instead, I continue to shrug my shoulders while not getting it.

– Aaron

PART EIGHT THE JEDI, THE WITCH, AND THE WARLORD ๐Ÿ˜Š

“What Iโ€™ve learned from my time watching AHSOKA, OBI-WAN, THE MANDALORIAN, and BOBA FETT is for me to care about a STAR WARS show, I need Grogu.

– Aaron
