I’m not a “master-debater” like any of the podcasters on SOUTH PARK this past week. However, it’s not open for debate that after twenty-seven years, the show is once again relevant. By going all-in and attacking Trump’s white house, it has become an assault on his administration, and while it may not be consistently laugh-out-loud TV, it’s abrasive, timely, and offensive. AKA, all the things SOUTH PARK is known for.
It’s clear that Trey Parker and Matt Stone don’t have a big plot this year (think Tegridy Farms in previous seasons), and they are simply going to mock whatever is trending (ICE, Joe Rogan, Kristi Noem, and Trump). And I’m fully in support of them doing so, and trying to “make their nut.”
SOUTH PARK is on Paramount+.
