SHELTER is a mixed bag of characters and a huge story that is finally sharing nuggets of info necessary in order to move forward. It is definitely not afraid of ending the lives of those audiences have met along the way.
Harlan Coben’s mystery is almost solved. I use the word almost because there is another twist I did not see coming. The series is headed to the finale on the heels of a cliffhanger. I am hopeful for a satisfying conclusion, but at this point, who can tell who will survive?
What bothers me the most is the way the lead is written. Mickey (Jaden Michael) does not have a vast treasure chest of expression when he delivers a line. He is very repetitive in his delivery, unlike his two cohorts, Spoon (Adrian Greensmith) and Ema (Abby Corrigan). These two talented actors make the show far more interesting, compelling, and light-hearted. They are the reason I am finishing the series. Thank you for keeping me entertained and smiling.
SHELTER could very well “go up in smoke” or be saved for renewal. Let’s hope “all’s well that ends well.”
It is available to stream on Prime Video.
