RYAN HAMILTON: THIS JUST HIT ME is a funny comedy special. It is not an uproarious hour of jokes and schtick, but he is entertaining and has good timing when it comes to nailing his punchlines. His latest stand-up routine is an easy, somewhat relatable, fifty minutes of summer escapism.
Hamilton spends most of his time sharing the horrors of being hit by a bus. It is an honest depiction of a terrifying moment in his life. It becomes the central theme and surprisingly made me chuckle. I can’t tell you how many times he says the word bus, but it would make a great drinking game. Hamilton would have been the only man still standing. I enjoyed his material during the final twenty minutes as well. It is humorous to hear his take on many of life’s irritants.
RYAN HAMILTON: THIS JUST HIT ME is a low-key look at his recent stop in Seattle while on tour. He surprised me, and that makes it even more worth your time.
