NEWLYWEDS S1E1 – E2

NEWLYWEDS is a new comedy sitcom with two episodes under its belt. What attracted me to this show was the phenomenal cast. It stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, and Jamie Lee Curtis. I am a huge fan of all these actors, so I had to tune in and see what the buzz was all about. It is a cute, clever storyline with all the normal schtick any audience would expect. I love the love story presented for people of a certain age, but I fear it could get old fairly quickly.

In my humble opinion, Curtis’s acting skills are being wasted. Her character is already not really necessary. She is playing a fluff role. I hope the monetary payoff is worth it, but I am not sure viewers will continue to be loyal. There is already a huge discrepancy between what critics think and what audiences actually believe, myself included. Something big needs to happen to hold these three superstars together for an entire season.

The jury is still out on NEWLYWEDS. I will try my best to forge onward. Time will tell.

It is streaming on Peacock.
