The penultimate episode slows down to a crawl while our heroes enter their “all is lost” moment. While there are some funny throw-away lines like “doggy-doggy” and the “AIRBUD RULE,” the songs and plotting are not up to the usual high bar set by the previous episodes.

Jane Krakowski and Kristin Chenoweth both get showstopping musical numbers. Yet, neither song is as catchy as the SUDDENLY reprise. However, their talents are displayed, with Chenoweth rapping and Krakowski “driving” a car while singing.

Tonight’s episode and the characters involved all go through some “strife and tribulation.” Luckily, SCHMIGADOON! has earned some goodwill. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be giving them a chance to “reinvent themselves” in next week’s season finale.
