OPRAH AND THE COLOR PURPLE JOURNEY ๐Ÿ˜Š

OPRAH AND THE COLOR PURPLE JOURNEY was a behind-the-scenes documentary about how the latestย ย ย โ€œre-imaginedโ€ film was brought to life. It was a look back to the beginning where it all started from the original novel by Alice Walker.ย

Oprah was the Executive Producer of this latest version and the Broadway extravaganza, as well as portraying Harpo in the original Steven Spielberg interpretation. This movie epitomizes one of her greatest life moments, so she has much to say and share as she interviews members of the cast and crew from the past and present. The documentary also gives the audienceย a close-up peek of several poignant, powerful scenes and production numbers. Viewers become privy to the โ€œwhyโ€ and how many creative decisions were made. It was well done, interesting, and entertaining.ย

What I enjoyed the most from OPRAH AND THE COLOR PURPLE JOURNEY was learning how the cast felt about portraying their characters. It delivered a โ€œstanding on the shouldersโ€ of their ancestry moments, especially encircling the massive tree at the conclusion. Warningโ€ฆthere could be some โ€œugly cryingโ€ along with tears of joy and inspiration. It is streaming on Max.
