Something is “fishy” in this once beloved TV series. While I’m excited, the latest episode has finally arrived at the “all is lost” moment for our characters. Sadly, the show has “lost” momentum in the process. And here’s why:

  • Once again, the series separates the three leads (Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selina Gomez).
  • The series has become a tedious formula – where our favorite trio is separated, and they catch each other up through dialogue. This doesn’t work since we are already in on what’s being explained, and as we know, TV is a visual medium (show us, don’t tell us what’s happening).
  • Where the hell is Meryl Streep?!?!
  • Why are we spending so much time with the supporting cast?

As the series continues to be hit by growing pains, a wise character this week stated, “The only wrong choice is no choice. Indecision is death.” I still have hope that ONLY MURDERERS IN THE BUILDING can make the choice to return to the must-watch TV it previously was.

It’s available on Hulu.
