I wanted to “toast” Jerry Seinfeld’s directorial debut, but all I can do is roast it. I hoped Jerry wouldn’t follow in Larry David’s SOUR GRAPES footsteps. Sadly, this empty caloric take on how the Pop-Tarts came to be does just that and leaves a sour taste in the viewer’s mouths.
UNFROSTED is a cinematic disaster. It’s filled with several unfunny celebrity cameos (excluding Jon Hamm and John Slattery’s MAD MEN pitch), a horrendous CGI Sea Monkey creature, and a finale that’s nothing short of cringe-worthy. The movie fails the audience by promising a sugar high, only to deliver the crash.
