LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT is a sweet, adorable rom-com surprise. It made me laugh, smile, and shed a tear at the infinite possibilities of finding love and defying the odds.
This film is about fate and perhaps even destiny, but only if you want it and are willing to be open for that leap of faith. Hadley (Haley Lu Richardson) and Oliver (Ben Hardy) meet quite by chance but have enough chemistry between them to light up the world. They make it all look and feel so real and easy, even though they have a logistical obstacle to overcome. I realize it was all predictable. After all, it is a love story, but that didn’t matter due to all the sparks flying. Their potential coupling was charming and enchanting.
The writers will say LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT is about statistics, and the narrator (Jameela Jamil) is quite creatively present every step of the way, sharing all sorts of those numbers and probabilities. This just added to this delightful film. It was truly a breath of fresh air among all the naysayers.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT is the perfect 90-minute movie to share with your special someone. Sometimes, a little bit of saccharine is good for our hearts and souls. It is available to stream on Netflix.
