REACHER proved it still has what it takes even after airing three previous seasons. The series comes from the best- selling author, Lee Child. This plot line is based on his novel, GONE TOMORROW. It is an exciting, action-packed thriller. Yes, be prepared to suspend disbelief as viewers travel back and forth between DC and Philly. There does not seem to be any brotherly love accorded to REACHER (Alan Ritchson) as he follows his natural instinct to investigate and help others. He is as tenacious and persistent as ever and this makes for an entertaining, edge of your seat time.Â
REACHER is an anomaly. His physique projects larger-than-life muscles. He could not blend in if his life depended on it, and it often does. He is a no-nonsense type of guy and Ritchson’s stoic, dead-panned delivery hits the bullseye each time. Whatever humor there is in between each solid punch and perry reeks of dark, crisp sarcasm. REACHER is nobody’s fool and it amazes me that after all the guys he manages to take down, the authorities still don’t believe him or give him the credit he is due. Kudos to the writers for capturing the novel’s twisted essence. Bravo to Ritchson for the perfect characterization.
REACHER is now on a weekly schedule for the rest of this season’s episodes. I was sad that I will have to wait for the next chapter in this fabulous story. It is fun and projects escapism at a fascinating level of delight and enjoyment. Check REACHER out on Amazon Prime. It will make audiences wish for such a man to exist who is willing to fight for the truth and justice.
