The team at SFR was mixed on LOKI, the latest entry into the MCU.

Eli, Mike, and Tarush gave S2 🤩. And said:

LOKI deserves to be mentioned alongside the most heralded entries of the MCU regardless of the medium it’s in.” – Eli

LOKI both as a series and a character, has evolved into something deeper and richer than its prior season could ever have hoped to accomplish. This was an intense and immensely enjoyable season with a commanding performance from troublemaker Tom Hiddleston himself.” – Mike

“Although confusing, LOKI emphasizes world-building, character development and ends up feeling like an ancient Norse myth. It feels like the most fresh and unique thing in the MCU in recent years. –Tarush

Esta was mixed and firmly believes it’s a 😊

Loki was an inconsistent roller coaster ride. I found myself out of breath at every sharp story turn.” – Esta

While Jami, on the other hand… 🤮

“LOKI S2 started off strong, and I really wanted to love it, but didn’t. Each episode after the first got so convoluted and confusing that by the end, I had no idea what had happened or when. A TV show like this shouldn’t require us to know the comics, mythology or remember what happened in a series 2.5 years ago in order to keep up.” – Jami

Season Breakdown:

E1 OUROBOROS 🤩

“Even in an episode that’s mostly at breakneck speed, Ouroboros puts introductions and plot setting above, moving the story forward too much too fast, and that’s okay. It’s been a minute, and we need to get our bearings before we slip down a branching timeline too far.

– Jami

E3 1893 🤩

We know some of these characters are ill-fated for reasons both in and out of the MCU, but 1893 feels fresh and innovative, cementing itself as an exciting installment to one of the most enjoyable shows airing right now.

– Tarush

E4 THE HEART OF THE TVA 🤩

Holy freaking hell, this season of LOKI has just been getting better and better. As they say in the episode, hoping is hard. But taking a queue from the god of mischief, I have the highest hopes that the remaining two episodes stick the landing.”

– Mike

E5 SCIENCE/FICTION 🤩

“In some ways, LOKI reminds me of THE GOOD PLACE – to put it simply; complicated people ending up in similar circumstances, working out their differences in an otherworldly location.

– Tarush

E6 GLORIOUS PURPOSE 🤩

“Between this, BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER, and GUARDIAN OF THE GALAXY VOL 3, it needs to be said that when the MCU actually cares, it can be some of the best stuff out there. It really can.

– Eli
