Ugh, this was a bad episode of HSM. While the students’ workshop the choreography to “Be Our Guest, the writers should’ve spent more time workshopping the script.
The cliched snowed-in trappings could’ve been a perfect excuse to have more music, but instead, we get two characters’ emotional reveals. Both Nini and EJ receive encouraging speeches from Miss Jenn and Mr. Mazzara respectably. Although they move the plot forward, it’s not enough to tune in and watch this week.
I don’t want to take HSM for “granted,” yet the show needs more music. If your show’s title has “musical” in it, you can’t wait until 5 minutes left for a mediocre song. Audiences want and deserve music!
