There’s a reason why HEARTSTOPPER has set a five consecutive week trending record for TV shows on Twitter. It has also appeared on the Netflix Top 10 in over 54 countries. And the cherry on top is that the show is sporting a 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. I am happy to report that all of the accolades are earned.
Yes, audiences have seen countless high school romances, but none have captured this much LGBTQ representation while making you feel “butterflies” throughout. Also, I’ll never look at animated leaves 🍁 in the same way again…
Sadly, my stepson is around closed-minded people due to circumstances out of my control. One day, he may come home and state something homophobic that’s a learned behavior. Once that happens, I’m happy to have HEARTSTOPPER teach him to have an open mind. I wish there were shows like this when I was a kid to help support the kids that needed it the most.
HEARTSTOPPER is one of the best shows of the year. It captures high school trauma with the universal theme of not “letting anyone make you disappear.”
