ABBOTT ELEMENTARY S2E18 TEACHER APPRECIATION 🤩

It was time for TEACHER APPRECIATION week on ABBOTT ELEMENTARY. As a former teacher, I remember it was always a wonderful time to be remembered with kindness and thoughtfulness. The Abbott staff had unique and different moments throughout their week.

Janine (Quinta Brunson) had issues with her sister visiting for a few days. There was so much past, buried baggage to sift through. The writers also put everyone on edge at the school. District offices tend to hold back funds, especially within inner-city locations. It certainly did not bring out the “team” effort usually witnessed at Abbott.

The ensemble experienced “hattitude.” But in the end, Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) said it best. “Why are teachers here? Not for the paycheck and not for the people who sign it. It’s for all the dedicated teachers and wonderful students.” Amen. This is why ABBOTT ELEMENTARY is such a great series. They get it. They create episodes that showcase teachers with humor, truth, and grace. They understand why teachers do what they do day after day. I am so proud to call myself a teacher. I appreciate every single one of us.

ABBOTT ELEMENTARY is available to stream on ABC, and if you have an extra moment, call or send your teachers a thank you. It will make them smile.
