WOMEN IN BLUE S1E1-2 🤩

WOMEN IN BLUE is based upon a true story about creating a women’s police force in Mexico City. This was never done before even though it was 1971. The series introduces what it took to join the force while dealing with extreme prejudice from the male detectives and other officers. It was a difficult journey for those first sixteen. The show highlights the backstories of four of the women and their families.

WOMEN  IN BLUE is spoken totally in Spanish. Subtitles are necessary, or it is available with English voiceover dubbing. This is how I watched the first two episodes. Even though the English actors might not have been as expressive as hearing the original passion in the actor’s native tongue, it allowed me not to have to speed read each frame. I found myself thoroughly immersed in the story. It was well-acted. It was exciting and poignant. It held my admiration for their battle to achieve non-discrimination.

WOMEN IN BLUE is just getting warmed up. It is a huge plus for me when I get to learn something new while solving a murder mystery and fighting the good fight for women’s equality.

It’s an all-around win-win. It is streaming on Apple TV+.
