UNITED STATES OF AL S1 E4 SPINACH; SABZI 🤮

UNITED STATES OF AL was just too pushy this week. Yes, of course, there are cultural differences between Afghanistan and America, but sheesh, how many times does Al have to make his point?

Subtle humor should be the key to this sitcom. Instead, the latest episode had nothing to offer along those lines. I felt brow-beaten and “less than” just like one of the main characters, Riley, portrayed by Parker Young.

UNITED STATES OF AL did not even offer enough serious moments to counter the lack of comedy. It felt out of whack and not worth my time. I wanted a refund, but I will hold out and give this once-promising show the benefit of doubt…at least for another week, and to make sure Al (Adhir Kalyan) stops pushing gross-looking spinach salads on an innocent 8-year-old.

UNITED STATES OF AL is available to stream on CBS ALL ACCESS Television.
