TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY was an emotional roller coaster ride this week. There were many questions answered and yet paths to redemption blocked. It definitely had several shocking moments that required a “thorough cleaning of a mess.”
Jodie Foster is at the center of all the turmoil and angst. I would try to “ask another question” if only I could get some real answers. Her facial expressions show every feeling she has stored inside as her character, Liz Danvers. It is as if she is exploding on my small screen. Her physicality is palatable. Kudos to Navarro played by Kali Reis. She possesses exquisite acting chops as well. The two together are mind-blowing and brilliant. They carry this series into the depths of deplorably harsh NIGHT COUNTRY.
TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY highlighted the terrors and frightening mystique of Alaska’s white wilderness. I truly cannot turn away. I will have a question ready for next week’s episode. It is streaming on Max.
