THE WOMAN IN THE HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE GIRL IN THE WINDOW is a parody of several murder mystery books and movies. It is a dark comedy with macabre scenes and cliff hangers that will make you binge the entire eight episodes in one evening.
It is a shame its not getting better overall reviews, but I don’t agree with many critics. I loved it. I adored Anna (Kristen Bell) as the troubled, on the verge of a breakdown, alcoholic, pill popping, heroine. She could melt hearts with one look. Her eyes literally could see into the soul of the killer. A fun fact…Kristen had to have her hair styled a certain way to play this role. She wanted her eyes to be the focal point in every scene she was in, hence, she had fake bangs and several sets of eyelashes to draw your eye to hers. Believe me. It worked.
There are those who will say “not enough” sarcasm and jokes. Nay, I say. I laughed out loud many times and couldn’t help shaking my head at the sheer absurdity of the series. So much rain out of nowhere, outrageous deaths, silly, sexy love scenes, and over-the-top fights. I couldn’t stop laughing at the finale and the epilogue. It will make you “SCREAM” with delight and surprise. It was “bingo” moments over and over.
THE WOMAN IN THEC HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE GIRL IN THE WINDOW is a long title, but it sets you up for a crazy ride of pure enjoyment. Sit back with your “chicken casserole” and just have fun! It is available to stream on NETFLIX.
